Booking, and what makes the call short
There is no form on this site and no email address. Either the phone or the booking page, both of which reach the same dispatcher.
- Model and serial
- On a range it is behind the oven door on the frame; on a built-in refrigerator, inside the upper-left of the cabinet.
- What it is doing
- Temperatures, noises, smells, error codes, and roughly when it started.
- Fuel and format
- Gas, dual-fuel or electric; freestanding, slide-in or built-in behind panels.
- Access
- Whether there is floor in front of the appliance if it has to come out.
None of it to hand? Book anyway — the plate gets read on the visit.
The fixed facts

What happens, in order
-
Call
Model and serial from the plate if you can reach them, then what the appliance is doing and when it started. Most faults narrow to two or three candidates during that conversation, which decides what goes on the van.
-
Test
Gas and electrical tested separately. On a range that means manifold pressure and flame sense on one side, igniter draw and relay behaviour on the other. On a refrigerator it means airflow and defrost before anyone mentions a compressor.
-
Quote
The fault, the part, the labour, the total. In that order, out loud, before a panel comes off. You can decline at that point having paid the service call and nothing else.
-
Close
The appliance is left running and checked, panels back where they were and alignment as it was found. If the same fault comes back, the return visit does not carry a second service call.

Temperature swung wildly for a week before we finally called. The damper motor had stripped its gear. He had the part with him, fitted it, and watched two cycles rather than take one reading and run.

Convection fan was spinning happily but the cavity stayed cold. An element had failed open at the rear connector where insulation had scorched. Both replaced, and he checked the wiring on the twin above.

Filter and spray arms were clogging again within weeks of every clean. He found the inlet valve seeping and filling short, which left debris behind each cycle. New valve and the whole problem vanished.
